On the 19th October 2009 Baptist Union of Great Brtiain Mission Department and Incarnate ran a day
for those interested in starting a church plant or fresh expression of mission. The day was called "Opening New Opportunities."
The day was well attended with over 30 delegates. Although there were a few veteran church planters who gave some good input and useful advice from their own stories, the majority were new to church planting. Some were from large churches who were outgrowing their buildings and looking for some creative ways forward. Others were from small, struggling churches looking for fresh initiative in their mission.
Everyone shared a recognition that the Spirit is on the move in new and creative ways across the U.K. There was a buzz and excitement in the room as people heard stories of what was already happening and others began dreaming what might be possible in their situation. It will be interesting to see how some of those dreams progress, stay in touch guys!
Thanks to the Mission Department especially Kathryn and Colin for all their hard work in making the day a success. Thanks also to the various speakers from Incarnate Network who gave energy and insight from their own innovative experience.
