You are invited to an open evening to explore the possibility of Urban Expression deploying church planting teams in inner-city communities in Bristol.
Urban Expression is ‘an urban mission agency that recruits, equips, deploys and networks self-financing teams pioneering creative and relevant expressions of the Christian Church in under-churched areas of the inner city.’
The open evening will be on Tuesday 12 May at 8.00. It will take place at St Mark’s Baptist Church, St Mark’s Road, Easton BS5 6HX. The church has recently opened a café, so refreshments will be served.
The evening will be hosted by Mike Pears, the minister of Cairns Road Baptist Church, who has invited us to consider deploying teams in Bristol. Members of Urban Expression will explain more about this and respond to questions.
Urban Expression is currently exploring openings in Birmingham and Sweden, as well as Bristol. We are committed to consultation before taking initiatives, so this open evening is an important opportunity for us to consult with churches and other agencies in Bristol.
Urban Expression also runs (in partnership with others) the Crucible training programme: three weekends on church planting and urban mission. This is currently running in Birmingham for the fourth year, but we are wondering about bringing this to Bristol. The open evening will be an opportunity to consider this too.
