Gary's strategy was not to 'do church' for 18 months but to use that time to integrate with the community, which he aimed to do by working in the local area.The biggest employer of the area in Asda and is at the heart of the community. Gary handed his C.V in as soon as he arrived in Victoria Park, but heard nothing. He did however manage to secure a job at Blockbuster and so began working there twelve hours a week. Six weeks ago he was invited for a Group Selection Day at Asda, then a personal interview which led to the offer of a job! Gary is now working full time between Blockbuster and Asda right in the centre of the community! How encouraging that things are going to plan!
